It is recommended for passengers with baggage to arrive at least 150 minutes prior to departure of the flight and passengers without baggage at least 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Passengers departing from Singapore may check-in through downtown facility situated in Paragon. Passengers traveling without baggage may also check-in at Singapore Airlines Service Center starting from 48 hours and up to 2 hours prior to scheduled departure. Passengers traveling with baggage may also use this service, but they will have to check-in their baggage at least 1 hour prior to scheduled departure of the flight.

Baggage allowance

Baggage allowance depends on ticket class, airport of origin and destination, regarding rules and regulations of baggage allowance of areas of origin and destination. It is recommended to put a label containing owner’s name and full contact information inside each piece of checked baggage in addition to standard airport label attached outside. Also it is important to remove all labels from previous flights to prevent any mistakes. Basically baggage allowance is divided in two systems – for passengers of all domestic and international flights, except of Canada and US and for passengers of flights to or from Canada and US.
Passengers of all domestic and international flights, except of flights to Canada and US are allowed to carry as many pieces of checked baggage as they want, however total quantity of checked baggage is limited in weight depending on ticket class. Passengers of first class are allowed to carry a total of 88 pounds. Kris Flyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members traveling in first class are entitled to carry additional 44 pounds of checked baggage. PPS club members traveling in first class are entitled to carry 178 pounds of checked baggage. Passengers traveling in business class are allowed to carry a total of 66 lbs (plus 44 lbs for Kris Flyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members and 132 lbs for PPS club members). Passengers traveling in economy class are limited to a total of 44lbs (plus 44lbs for Kris Flyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members and 88lbs limit to PPS club members). Infants traveling in any class on adults lap and paying at least 10 percent of applicable adult fare can carry up to 22lbs of checked baggage.
Passengers of all flights to and from Canada and US are allowed to carry two pieces of checked baggage. Each piece must not exceed 62 linear inches and 70 lbs. However, economy class passengers are limited to 107 inches for both pieces (any of two pieces must not exceed 62 linear inches). Kris Flyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members can also take 1 additional piece of checked baggage not exceeding 62 linear inches and 70lbs. PPS club members can carry twice more baggage traveling in any class, e.g. baggage allowance is 2 pieces and PPS members can carry 4 pieces not exceeding 62 linear inches and 70lbs each.
Passengers carrying pieces of checked baggage exceeding free baggage allowance limit will be charged additional service fee depending on actual dimensions and weight of these pieces. Note that regardless of airport of origin and destination and ticket class, pieces of checked baggage exceeding the limit of 100lbs and 180 linear inches will not be accepted on passengers’ aircraft and must be carried by Philippine airlines cargo.
Limitations for carry-on baggage are same for all flights regardless of airport of origin and destination and ticket class. All passengers are allowed to carry one piece of carry-on baggage and one personal item in passengers’ cabin. One piece of carry-on baggage must not exceed 45 linear inches, 15lbs and must fit either underneath the seat, or in overhead compartment. Additional personal item must be rather light, small and handy item that can be easily managed by passenger during the flight. For instance this can be a laptop computer, reasonable quantity of reading materials, overcoat or wrap, briefcase or purse, walking stick, or umbrella, crutches, etc. Note that regardless of same carry-on baggage allowance for all destinations, limitations regarding allowed items may vary for different destinations. For instance scissors and lighters allowed on the majority of international routes are prohibited on flights to and from Canada and US.
