Reviews of Air France: Air France. Airline flight schedule.

Summary

Air France was founded on the dawn of international aviation and made its first commercial flight between Paris and London in 1919. Since then Air France together with KLM has grown into the largest European airlines delivering passengers and cargos to major business centers and vacation destinations of France, Europe and world. Also it is worth to mention that for the last five years Air France provides best rates for vacation offers and flights to France and many other European countries. Besides of that, Air France is the best way to travel to former French colonies including those situated in Africa. And no doubt that it’s the best way to travel within France and all over the European Union. Major destinations are Western and Eastern Europe including Moscow, Kiev, Minsk and some other cities of Eastern Europe (which are hardly reachable with any US airlines), Africa and Middle East, Asia, The Antilles and Indian Ocean, South Pacific, South and North America. A total of 185 destinations in 83 countries (separately) and 225 destinations in 109 countries (together with KLM) are reachable today. British, Canadian and US citizens may note that international flights of Air France are available from all big and many smaller cities and towns of Great Britain, Canada and US. Air France has its major hub and headquarters in Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, wherefrom domestic and international passenger and cargo flights are operated.

Check-in time

Faster check-in is available at special counters for Espace Premičre or Espace Affaires passengers. Passengers planning same day roundtrip without baggage check once in airport of origin without obligatory check-in formalities on the way back. Passengers traveling on connecting flights shouldn’t check their baggage in airport of change – both passengers and baggage are checked from airport of origin to airport of final destination.
Passengers may check-in starting from 24 hours prior to scheduled departure of the flight, but not later than 1 hour prior to departure. Some flights allow checking-in within 30 minutes prior to departure, but these are rather exceptions. Note that boarding gate deadline in 25 minutes prior to scheduled departure of the flight. It is strongly recommended to arrive to airport at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure of the flight to allow enough time of checking baggage and do other formalities.

Baggage allowance

For safety and handy transportation of your baggage, Air France provides the following baggage tips: use hard-shell bags and cases, or other containers with rigid sides that will prevent your baggage from squeezing. Remove labels and other removable signs made on previous flight – it will facilitate baggage processing and help to avoid baggage routing mistakes. Do not put fragile and expensive items in your baggage. Attach two labels specifying your name, home address and phone inside and outside each bag – this will prevent it from getting lost in some specific cases. Note that baggage protecting service covering your bags with protection film is available in the majority of airports.
Passengers of all flights are allowed to carry two pieces of checked baggage. Weight limitation depends of flight destination and fare. Free checked baggage weight is specified on your ticket. If you are planning to carry heavier baggage, then you will have to pay applicable service fee. Regardless of allowance, each piece of checked baggage must not exceed the following limitations. Each item of checked baggage is limited to a maximum of 32kg and 140 linear cm (height + length + width). In case if you’re a member of Flying Blue, then you have extended limits for allowed baggage. They are +5kg (Silver membership), +10kg (Gold membership), +20kg (Platinum membership). Note that there are baggage allowance limitations or extensions to particular destinations including Brazil. Contact Air France representative to learn more about baggage allowance to a particular destination.
Passengers of all flights, regardless of destination are allowed to take one piece of carry-on baggage and one personal item aboard. Carry-on baggage is limited to 115 linear cm and 18kg. Carry-on baggage must fit under the seat, or in overhead compartment. Additional personal item must be rather small and handy, so passenger can easily manage it during the flight.
