Summary

Air Jamaica provides passengers with safe, reliable and reasonably cheap flights over Caribbean and around the world. From airline’s major hubs in Montego Bay and Kingston Air Jamaica operates large number of flights to islands of the Caribbean including Barbados, Bonaire, Cuba, Curacao, Nassau, Grand Cayman, Grenada and St. Lucia, major business centers of North America and Europe. You can easily book a flight from Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Atlanta, New York, Washington, Philadelphia, Baltimore and London to any of the mentioned destinations of the Caribbean and back. Air Jamaica offers both direct and connected flights to major business centers and vacation destinations in North America, Europe and Caribbean.

Check-in time

Check-in always begins two and a half hours before the departure of the flight irrespective of the destination at airport’s ticket counter. Due to international processing and increase of security requirements for all flights it is strongly recommended to be always in time to allow servicemen sufficient time completing all required processing and documentation. Ticket reservation may be cancelled if required if you miss to come at least an hour prior to departure. Passengers must take their seats at least half an hour before scheduled departure of the flight, otherwise passengers seat can be canceled and checked baggage of missing passengers removed from the baggage hold. Regarding recent regulations all visitors of the United States must provide the following information at check-in. Passengers that will not provide corresponding information will not be allowed on flight. Required information is passenger’s first, middle and last name, gender, nationality, country of residence, travel document type, travel document number, country of issue and expiration date and destination address in the United States. These requirements are not applied to citizens of the United States and legal permanent residents.

Baggage allowance

Checked baggage allowance differs depending on the class you fly. First class passengers are allowed to carry 2 pieces of checked baggage up to 70 lbs each with maximum linear dimension of 62 inches. Economy class passengers are allowed to carry two pieces of checked baggage up to 50 lbs each with maximum dimension of 62 linear inches. Special offer allows all passengers to carry an additional piece of checked baggage in flights between Jamaica and Grand Cayman. This additional piece must not be heavier than 50 lbs and not larger than 62 linear inches. There are also special conditions for carried baggage on flights to London and back. Business class passengers may carry up to three checked pieces of baggage not heavier than 70 lbs each and not larger than 62 linear inches each. Economy Deluxe class passengers may carry 2 pieces of checked baggage not heavier than 70 lbs each and not larger than 62 linear inches each. Economy class passengers can take 2 pieces in checked baggage up to 70 lbs each piece and with maximum dimension of 62 linear inches.
Carry-on baggage that passengers take aboard must fit in space under passenger’s seat, or table in front of passenger, or overhead compartment. Some fully loaded flights cannot accept carry-on baggage. In this case you must carry your carry-on baggage together with checked baggage. Passengers flying from United Kingdom to Jamaica are allowed to take one carry-on bag up to 11 lbs in weight and of maximal dimension of 45 linear inches. Women traveling with handbags must note that handbags are also considered carry-on baggage regardless of size. Passengers departing from London must also consider that currently rules for carry-on baggage are regulated by airport, so it is important to check whether your carry-on baggage corresponds to airport rules.
Passengers departing to, or arriving from Canada are allowed to take one carry-on beg up to 22 lbs and with maximal dimension equal to 45 linear inches.
Passengers departing to, or arriving from all other points are allowed to take 1 carry-on beg up to 30 lbs and with maximal dimensions equal to 45 linear inches.
The following items can be carried for free in addition to carry-on baggage: one fully collapsible wheelchair and\or crutches and\or braces and\or other device that is necessary for normal transportation of a passenger, or that the passenger is dependent from; one fully collapsible child stroller or push chair; one handbag, pocket book, magazine or wallet that is appropriate to normal dress and is not used to carry items that may be considered as carry-on baggage; a blanket, pillow, overcoat and other comfort articles, unless they are too large; an umbrella or a walking stick; photo camera, video camera, binoculars; foods and drinks intended to be consumed by lap children during the flight.
